dhatu-garbha

Inhabitat, had an artical yesterday on some random "Green" valentines day gifts.

Things like...

Hallmark Red Cards,
Reindeer Greeting E-Cards,
Dagoba Chocolate's,
Terra Nostra Chocolate's,
... wait!... what?
Degoba Chocolate's?

That's right Degoba Like the System.

My curiosity was saverly peaked, so I dug around a bit.

That's actully an over statement as my first hit was the jackpot, good old wikipedia:dagoba.

Dagoba may refer to:

* Dagoba, the French metal band.
* Dagoba Chocolate, an organic brand of chocolate.
* Dagobah, the fictional planet from the Star Wars universe

or

* Stupa, the Buddhist building style.

My second stop was pure gold. Dagoba Chocolate is a high-quality organic chocolate most known for there Chili-flavored chocolate. I'm not making this stuff up, go ask CNN/Money. Named after a Sinhalese corruption of the word Dhatu-garbha, a sanskrit word for stupa.

Well that clears things up. I totaly understand now, how chocolates, chili, sinhalese, and star wars go hand in hand.

Wait, stupa? Haven't I seen that word before?

Clicky, A heap, a buddhist mound-like stucture, a relic, a repository. This is awesome, all of these definenitions apply to Star Wars.

The Planet Dagobah is a heap, Yoda's hut is a mound-like structure, Yoda is a relic of on old time, and a repository of knowlege.

So, The buttom line, is that I have learned that Yoda was a chili flavored chacolete loving, sinhalese buddhist, that lived in a mound-like structure, on a heap of a planet with a repository of knowlege.
